Anaconda

The anaconda vise is a compression choke. The attacker wraps her arms around the head and one arm of the victim and squeezes, choking him. It is considered legal in professional wrestling, although it is a chokehold. 

 

Also known as an arm-trap triangle choke. The vise is done from a position in which the attacker and her victim are seated on the mat facing each other. The attacker sits on one side of her opponent and using his near arm encircles him in a headlock position and grabs the opponent's near wrist, bending the arm upwards. Then, the attacker maneuvers their other arm through the "hole" created by the opponent's bent wrist, locks their hand upon their own wrist, and then pulls him forward, causing pressure on his arm and neck.

 

One of the most devastating holds in wrestler's destructive arsenal, the Anaconda Vise is a debilitating chokehold with roots in martial arts like judo and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Performed after an adversary is beaten to the ground, the Anaconda Vise is applied when attacker snakes her arm around her opponent's neck and cinches their arm behind their head, cutting off the flow of oxygen while immobilizing them. Then she wrenches the hold, leading to the inevitable tap out.

 

How to do: To do this move, you wrap one arm around your opponent’s neck while trapping one of your opponent’s arms with your other arm. Because you’re not directly attacking the throat or windpipe (as you would with, for example, the Undertaker’s Hell’s Gate submission gold), the move isn’t banned by WWE, in either storyline or real-life terms.
